The Chief Medical Officer of Piedmont Rockdale is responsible for the coordination, direction and planning of all medical affairs within the hospital and ensuring the continuing operations and clinical functions in accordance with policies and standards set by the Board, best practices for clinical operations, and requirements defined by the Bureau of Primary Health Care. The CMO serves as the senior physician leader responsible for overseeing clinical quality and outcomes and spearheading the establishment of evidence-based care standardized protocols in partnership with medical staff while providing strategic direction and facilitating strong communication between the medical staff and administration to ensure positive relations. The CMO is the key liaison for physician relationships, engagement, and accountability to achieve the mission and strategic goals of the organization. The CMO leads performance improvement, risk management, patient safety, and quality-related activities of the medical center. Additionally, the CMO will align medical staff goals with the site, market and organizational objectives and strategies.
