The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for coordinating and leading the implementation of the AboutHealth Shared Services work plan. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of the overall strategic direction and management of the AboutHealth Shared Services initiatives. This role will work closely with the Shared Services subcommittee, applicable local health system leadership, and strategic partners to coordinate, plan, and implement all shared services initiatives. Will work collaboratively with clinical and operational leadership to drive best practices and streamline utilization and overall value, while transforming supply chain processes.
Work with the Vice President of Operations and the Shared Services Committee in the areas of capital, supply, purchased services, and distribution.
Work to create an agreed upon strategy and oversees the structuring and negotiation of the business terms for contracts to achieve quality outcomes and business objectives.
Leads the analytic review and support of supply chain activities to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery.
Achieve cost reduction goals developed by AboutHealth and member organizations.
Develop and strengthen relationships with all AboutHealth owners, providing support to owners for the business planning process and implementation of all initiatives.
Develop RFP/RFQ’s and works with owners to ensure alignment of business needs and delivery expectations.
Measure and monitor key metrics as defined by AboutHealth.
Responsible for AboutHealth contracts and Vendor negotiations.
Develops partner relationships with key vendors, and group purchasing organizations to improve quality and efficiency of the overall supply chain.
Works to develop standardization of products, services, and equipment throughout the owner organizations in alignment with owner expectations.
Collaborates with supply chain and other leadership from each owner system to ensure strategies are understood, aligned, and implemented. Drive project and actionable items across a range of functions and divisions/departments.
Leads strategic planning in the areas of supply and purchased services contracting, equipment optimization and distribution planning.
Applies Project Planning and Management to effectively meet outcomes, time, and budget parameters (clarify purpose and scope, identify tasks, milestones and outcomes, define time frame and needed resources, enroll stakeholders, anticipate or resolve conflicts, define and execute the plan to completion, report results and lessons learned, celebrate learning).
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain and/or healthcare related field.
Eight years of experience in Supply Chain and/or healthcare operations for a large integrated healthcare system or other large business environments.
Skills in developing strategic and tactical plans to meet business objectives in a large organization. Skills in developing sound proposals and successfully implementing program/project plans. An understanding of health care delivery systems and healthcare dynamics a plus.
Leadership skills in facilitating large groups, cross-functional teams, or multiple businesses for a common purpose.
Excellent organization, prioritization, and project management skills.
High level written and verbal communications skills.
Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts for products and services.
This position requires travel so will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
