Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, Adults, CD, and the Geriatric population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well.Wellstone is seeking a dynamic and talented Director of Intake.
The Intake Director has 24-hour a day seven-day a week responsibility for assessment, referral and admission activities. The Intake Director ensures prompt response to patient and referral needs, provides clinical supervision to staff, assures appropriateness of risk assessments, crisis interventions and referrals to level of care. The Intake Director promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Wellstone Regional Hospital.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The Intake Director must demonstrate knowledge and skills in provision of services to a varied populations including children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.
Education: Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Services, Psychology or Human Services field. Or, RN.
Experience: Prefer 3 years of Intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population in an inpatient setting. Supervisory experience.
Licensure/Certification: Prefer LCSW, LMFT, RN, etc. License must be in Indiana.
Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of hospital admissions functions, leadership skills, crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
Supervision Received: Chief Executive Officer
Supervision Exercised: Intake Counselors, Intake Clerks, Mobile Team
Environmental Conditions: Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. General hospital and office environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally, telephonically and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Extensive use of computer terminal. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results pre-employment urine drug screen.
