JOB TITLE: Program Director - System Platform Integration - Hospital Billing/AR Management

Directs GHS system development and related activities of the system platform integration initiative, including project management, staff management, analysis, design, testing, implementation, and support of the user community. Provides planning, consultation and advisory services to various departments system-wide. Oversees major projects related to the single billing platform including; analysis, integration, migration, and post implementation optimization.
This role requires a subject matter expert in all aspects of the hospital billing and AR Management operations. This role is responsible for working with a coordinating external vendor resource and other subject matter experts to evaluate all current bolt-on technology associated with current billing systems and current workflows. The candidate must possess the subject matter expertise needed to help the team derive solutions to business problems and also be able to appropriately question the business need in order to both limit complexity and help achieve standardized business processes. This individual is a strong tactician who knows how to build teams, manage vendors and consultants, and collaborate seamlessly with interfacing functional and technology teams.
Responsible for taking an inventory and documenting existing work-flows and determining current and future best-practices. This role is responsible for analyzing existing integration (EPIC to Billing Systems) for all financial transactions. Responsibilities include managing, formulating new programs, identifying areas of opportunity for program improvement, analyzing current work flow, reducing duplication of effort while increasing efficiency and resolving any hospital billing and AR resolution issues including coordinating policy and guidance. Oversees the performance and integrity of the department through accurate reporting, monitoring, and training.
Responsible for Quality Assurance for financial transactions resulting from the areas of responsibility noted above in the job description.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System (GHS)
in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
Reports directly and receives supervision from Senior Director, Associate Vice President or management Designee.
SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:
1. As a core member of the RM leadership team, participates in establishing and integrating strategic plans for the system platform integration project.
2. Insures the maintenance of confidentiality for both the medical and financial information on patients who have received services from the Geisinger Health System. Insures HIPAA guidelines are followed.
3. Works in conjunction with other areas within RM and external departments and GHS to insure coordinated activities with respect to all revenue cycle transactions.

Individual must be able to demonstrate a full working knowledge of Revenue Management processes and requirements contained within each area of Revenue Management. This includes, but is not limited to, Electronic Health Record Systems, Billing Systems, Patient Access Systems, Claims Editing and Processing Systems, Account Follow Up and Resolution, Cash Processing, Coding, Charge Capture, and Financial Management. Individual must also have an understanding of how other departments impact Revenue Management processes.
Individual should have excellent analytical and problem solving skills, communication and organizational skills. Individual must be able to work independently and communicate with employees and clients at all levels within and external to the organization. A wide degree of creativity and latitude are expected at this level.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or other data relevant field required.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Healthcare Management preferred.
Minimum of five years’ management experience required (i.e., management of project or process or people).
Minimum of five years’ work experience in revenue cycle/financial information systems, systems design or detailed applications in a progressive healthcare environment required.
HFMA CHFP Certification required within one year.
Experience in Lean methodologies preferred.
