Responsible for all assigned front desk duties for the clinic and outpatient treatment center. Registers patients, maintains accurate patient account information, and builds charts. Verifies insurance benefits and collects copays. Schedules consults and follow-up appointments. Answers incoming phone calls, transfers calls, and relays messages. Refers patients to other specialists and performs fax duties. Sorts mail and medical records. Inventories, orders & stocks office supplies. Performs order entry for all departments, & other related tasks relevant to the smooth operation of the front office.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
Competent in use of computer.
Clerical and medical terminology courses.
Knowledge of Texas and Arkansas Medicaid guidelines.
One year experience, preferable in physician clinic.
