JOB TITLE:Echocardiography Technician LOCATION: Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center DEPARTMENT:Electrocardiogram WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full time
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for a variety of technical duties necessary to the acquisition of echocardiographic examinations and maintenance of the normal operation of the adult echocardiography laboratory.
Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
Works under the supervision of the Operations Manager, Heart Hospital and the Medical Director of the Adult Echo Lab.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates ability to work well in the patient care environment.
Demonstrates effective communication skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a formal training program in cardiac ultrasound or experienced Echo Tech work with at least two years prior experience required.
CCI or RDMS certification or eligibility for certification required.
Current PA drivers license required.
On the job training may be required for up to six months.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in a laboratory environment. Independent travel to other sites throughout the system and surrounding communities may be necessary.

GEISINGER WYOMING VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER: (GWV), located in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., is an acute care hospital that is licensed for 274 beds, and houses the only Level II Trauma center in Luzerne County. The campus includes the Frank M. and Dorothea Henry Cancer Center, The Richard and Marion Pearsall Heart Hospital, the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Unit, a transplant program and the Brain & Spine Tumor Institute.
