Serves as liaison between administration, medical staff, and the Board of Directors, assists the Medical Executive Committee, and participates in the development of new health care services to ensure the delivery of quality medical programs by the hospital. Assures that the medical staff meets accrediting and licensing standards, and assists Service and Divisional Chairpersons and the Medical Executive Committee in carrying out their respective functions. Other responsibilities include advising departmental continuous quality improvement programs, developing Medical Staff Office policies and procedures, directing hospital educational activities, and serving as a member of hospital administration.
As delegated by the Board of Directors, develops policies and procedures that define and describe the scope of services offered by Our Lady of Lourdes RMC. Submits the policies and procedures to the Professional Affairs Committee for approval on an annual basis.
Assures that the hospital medical staff meets accrediting and licensing standards.
Develops Medical Staff Office department policies and procedures that provide efficient credentialing and reappointment of the Medical/Dental Staff and support for the Service, Division, and Medical Staff meetings. Monitors the application of department and organizational policies and procedures, investigates policy and procedure violations, reviews relevant incident reports, and recommends appropriate action in consultation with medical staff and administrative leadership.
Advises departmental continuous quality improvement programs that further the attainment of optimum health care service outcomes. Promotes participation in multi-disciplinary continuous quality improvement in an effort to comply with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations guidelines.
Directs hospital educational activities that are congruent with the mission and strategic plans, operating goals, and objectives of the hospital, and are in compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws in an effort toward providing high quality health care services.
Serves as a member of hospital administration by participating in the development and implementation of plans, policies, and programs related to medical services and provides consultation and recommendations to administration regarding medical services and policies in an effort to promote the efficiency and quality of health care services provided by the hospital.
Serves as liaison between administration, medical staff, and the Board of Directors and oversees medical activities within the organization. Assists the President by providing direction to the Board of Directors and assists the Chief of Staff in providing direction to the Medical Executive Committee in an effort to promote the provision of high quality health care services within the community.
Works with the Medical Executive Committee, administration, and clinical and non-clinical departments to oversee clinical quality projects and clinical pathways.
Participates in the development of new health care programs and services with Administration, the Board of Directors, and medical staff and monitors provided services.
Assists Service and Divisional Chairpersons and the Medical Executive Committee in carrying out their respective functions in accordance with hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations in an effort to provide quality health care services by the hospital.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Preferred / Desired
5 years management experience in a health care marketing environment
Current Louisiana medical license, unrestricted
