You Will Be Responsible For:
Provides supervisory support for the Research Scientist core of AHRI. Duties include interfacing with external organizations, staff allocation and oversight, representation of the Core at relevant meetings, and staffing / supervision of the Research Scientists pool.
Works collaboratively with peer core managers and AHRI faculty to ensure proficient staffing and training of Research Scientist core
Collaborates with peers and faculty to develop and implement processes that ensure workflow and scheduling are optimized for clinical research operations.
Collaborates with other AdventHealth Research departments, including but not limited to the Institute Development Office and Research Service teams to ensure federal, state, local, and institutional regulatory compliance
Assists in establishing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for Research Institute scientific operations, research training, and certification for staff. Develops approaches to monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of the Research Scientists within AHRI
Performs other duties and responsibilities as directed by Leadership to ensure efficient operations of AHRI research teams
What You Will Need:
Bachelor's degree in medical, scientific, healthcare, business administrative or related field
Minimum of eight years' experience in a health-care, basic, or pharmaceutical research settings site
Minimum of five years' experience in a healthcare or research setting with demonstrated experience managing teams OR
Minimum two years' experience as Research Scientist with increasing people management responsibilities
Provide Supervision of Core Services Research Scientist Team
MD, PhD, or Master's degree in medical, scientific, healthcare, business or related field (preferred)
Established competency in research as evidenced by published (peer reviewed) research (preferred)
Experience in investigator or sponsor-initiated research in a clinical-translational research setting (preferred)
Demonstrated experience staffing, resourcing and scheduling scientific teams in a matrixed organizational environment (preferred)
Experience in a fast-paced research or health-care setting (preferred)
Proficiencies in managerial knowledge and skills (preferred)
Reporting to the Director of Cores, the Core Supervisor - Research Scientists provides support for a growing team of Research Scientists (RS) within the AdventHealth Research Institute (AHRI). The Supervisor may also perform duties as a Research Scientist, and will serve as people manager for other staff scientists within the core. The Supervisor will work closely with AHRI faculty to onboard and ensure alignment of suitable candidates against skillset and expertise and will work to efficiently re-deploy team members to strategically aligned scientists, programs and initiatives. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
