Become a physician leader in our CARF Accredited SCI Rehabilitation program at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. Direct patient care and programmatic leadership are required.
Ideal candidate - experienced in clinical care and management of patients with acute and chronic spinal cord injuries and have rehabilitation expertise. Team leadership skills and experience in a CARF accredited rehabilitation program are preferred. Program development skills are an asset.
Responsible for an inpatient panel of 12 patients (average), with the assistance of a Physician Assistant, and outpatient follow up for newly injured veterans at scheduled intervals for the first year following discharge from rehabilitation.
Veterans served include both new onset and long-standing SCI, although this position will primarily be managing veterans within the 1st year of their spinal cord injury.
Interdisciplinary team meetings, including admission and discharge planning conferences are held regularly (average 3/week).
