A Contact Tracer is a health professional providing support to the occupational health department with contract tracing measure for hospital associates in the fight against COVID-19. The contact tracer is responsible for reaching out to people (contacts) who have been exposed to COVID-19 and providing health education and guidance to interrupt ongoing disease transmission. Dialogue with contacts will be guided by standard protocols to obtain any symptom history and other relevant health information, provide instructions for self-quarantine, and make appropriate referrals to testing, clinical services, and other essential support services. This position will require prioritization, prompt action, and attention to detail in documentation and data management as multiple investigations will be conducted simultaneously. Flexible scheduling for nights and weekend will be required.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing or Licensed Practical Nursing or Certified Medical Assistant.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current New Mexico RN/LPN/CNA license or current Compact state license. BLS certification required.
SKILLS: Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served. Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in the delivery of care. Communicates in a clear concise manner appropriate to the developmental age of patient. Knowledgeable about hospital policy and procedures and hospital standards of practice.

- Bloodborne pathogenC (OR, PACU, L & D); Bloodborne pathogenB (other Patient Care areas). Exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays.
Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated smoke-free environment. Subject to stressful professional relationships. Working hours are varied, with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to handle, prolonged, extensive or considerable standing and walking. Hearing and visual acuity within normal or correctable limits. Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required.
