Graduate students will participate in experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting.The intern will operate in a high visibility role to help the Vice President, Corporate Communications develop an enterprise-wide communications framework, campaign strategies, and processes for the functional team.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interns will work along side professionals in their chosen career area.
Assist with supporting the assigned area, gaining practical application experience, and expanding their knowledge and skills base.
Interns will have the opportunity to observe the workplace and gain industry knowledge, while also performing job-specific tasks to assist with operations.
Works closely on a project team both conceptually and analytically, applying business acumen.
Assists in developing insights, results and recommendations.
Work with the VP, Corporate Communications to develop (or fine-tune) the communications strategy and/or help to develop specific campaign strategies (i.e. thought leadership).
Work with the communications leadership team to identify best practices, tools and methodologies to increase business efficiencies, minimize duplication of work and strengthen the functional capabilities of the organization.
Help to develop an effective reporting process to help leaders and executives understand the output and deliverables achievement of the communications function.
Review industry best practices related to communications measurement and metrics and deploy a strategy for the communications team.
Work with communications leadership team to develop social media strategy/approach and plan for the executive leadership team.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Fluency in Microsoft Office tools – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams/Sharepoint etc.
Ability to communicate ideas and plans to senior leaders.
Data Analytics, measurement, analytical skills.
Project Management – strong organizational skills and ability to solve problems.

Must be a current graduate student completing a Master' degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations and/or Journalism.
Undergraduate degree holders with backgrounds in Corporate Communications, Public Relations and/or Journalism preferred.
