Community Patient Registration Coordinator, Seasonal PRN

Work Hours/Shift: Seasonal PRN/Per Diem Hours; shifts Monday â“ Friday, 10AM-6:30PM You Will Be Responsible For: - Greets and welcomes all patients as well as incoming phone calls, walk-up answers inquiries, and directs inquiries related to COVID vaccination appropriately.
- Welcomes patients appropriately, accurately updates, verifies and enters patient demographics into appropriate systems.
- Registers patients for services and achieves accuracy. Ensures timely discharge is facilitated and reimbursement is maximized.
- Works closely with COVID Vaccination team to support in areas as needed from helping to setting up the room to organizing all related supplies and materials needed for vaccination.
- Communicates via email and personally effectively verbally Achieves productivity standards and uses upmost caution in patient and employee safety.
- Accountable for maintaining a working relationship with clinical partners to ensure open communication between clinical, ancillary and patient access departments, and enhances patient experiences leveraging all communication channels effectively.
- Provides timely and continual coverage of assigned work area in order to offer prompt patient service and availability for all clinical partnersâ™ registration needs.
- Promotes a safe work environment by following through with ID badging system of guests, as required.
- Maintains an effective operational flow by communicating patientsâ™ status to appropriate team members and keeping patient apprised
- Provides education as necessary to patient regarding COVID Vaccination, patient portal use, and follow-up (non-clinical) actions
- Documents appropriately within COVID applications to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- Participates in activities that promote camaraderie and a friendly work environment. Enthusiastically participates in departments initiatives.
- Completes special projects or performs other duties as assigned by the site leader.
Qualifications
What You Will Need: - EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- One (2) or more years of customer services or medical office or equivalent with medical terminology, coding, charge entry and payment collection.
- KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
- Knowledge of computer programs, such as Cerner
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Exposure to insurance benefits and ability to decipher insurance benefit information.
- Knowledge of business office procedures
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Community Patient Registration Coordinator is responsible for answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, reviewing new patient registration, entering patient information into the practiceâ™s designated system, requesting and collecting co-pays/outstanding balances at the time of check-in/check-out. This individual is responsible for taking accurate messages and routing correspondence efficiently. Serves as a liaison between patients and support staff.
