Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Incumbent works as an Assistant to the Service Chief within the Community Care Service at Central Alabama VA Healthcare System (CAVHCS). The incumbent will assist the Service Chief in oversight of all aspects of operation within the Community Care service. The day to day function of the incumbent incorporates both program management and supervisory responsibilities but not limited to: Serves as professional liaison within the facility, to other VA facilities, academic affiliates, and community stakeholders Uses judgment and discretion in determining intent and in interpreting and revising existing policy and regulatory guidance for use by others within or outside the employing organization. Serves as subject matter expert to clinic teams/staff/leadership in advanced Community Care access principles, data reports, and tools. Promotes and enforces compliance with access targets, measures, metrics, policies, etc. Serves on committees and executive boards, contributing pertinent Community Care advice during all stages of planning, policy formulation, and decision making. Monitor performance measure metrics and assists all clinical services in performance improvement activities with the goal being continuous improvement in the quality and safety of the clinical care provided. Responsible for administration of personnel assigned to Community Care Service with both direct and indirect supervision of staff. The service is divided into several subordinate sections, each of which is headed by a supervisor who is responsible for the day-to- day supervision of the staff and workload. Staff includes both clinical and administrative personnel. Responsible for oversight of consult management, timely clinical documentation, and other critical Community Care practices that impact organizational efficiency and safety. Demonstrates leadership in interpreting and supporting the VISN mission, vision, and values while working in Community Care following Veterans Health Administration (VHA) policies, facility, and VISN policies, and standards of federal professional and accrediting agencies external to VHA.
