This Clinical Pharmacist position is located in Pharmacy Service at the Manchester location. This position is a full-time at 40 hours per week. Notice: This is a temporary position, not to exceed 1 year, which may be extended or converted to a permanent position without further competitive procedures. This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19. The primary responsibilities of the Clinical Pharmacist are the screening, interpretation, and dispensing of medication orders utilizing his/her expertise in assuring each patient receives optimum drug therapy after all physical, clinical and economic factors have been considered. The pharmacist promotes and manages drug therapy based on current clinical knowledge that is consistent with policies established at the national, VISN and local levels. Clinical: 1. Reviews patients' medication profiles and medical records as necessary for appropriate drug selection, dosing, contraindications, side effects, potential drug interactions, and therapeutic outcomes as required. Is able to interpret routine laboratory values and to apply that knowledge in the evaluation of drug therapy and patient care. Communicates findings with prescribers and provides appropriate alternatives to current treatment regimens as needed. Education and Research: 1. Participates in the training and in-servicing of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students and other medical center personnel as required. Drug Information: 1. Has a good working knowledge of information resources, both written and electronic. 2. Maintains a current knowledge of therapeutics and disease management. 3. Provides timely and accurate responses to drug information inquiries from all customers. Work Schedule: 5 days a week, days off may change as applicant may need to work weekends. Tour of duty: 8am - 4:30pm or 7:30am - 4pm.
