ChristianaCare is currently seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Labor & Delivery department. In this role, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assist in the clinical and administrative activities of the department in order to ensure patients the provision of quality care.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervises all nursing and technical personnel: Assesses competency of staff, oversees daily staffing and scheduling needs of department, evaluate staff performance, counsel/coach staff member as needed.
• Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
• Functions as role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors.
• Directs, mentors and supports all levels of staff.
• Develops, implements and monitors performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Identifies and develops strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
• Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements appropriate changes and system wide improvements.

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare or Business Management preferred. Three years' appropriate clinical experience in area or specialty required, with specific experience in Labor & Delivery, L&D Triage or OR experience preferred. Leadership experience preferred. Appropriate clinical certification required

Hours:

This position is a Day/Evening rotation, however, based on department needs may need to cover Midnight shift as well. Weekend rotation based on department needs required.
