The Endocrine/Diabetes Physician (MD/DO) is administratively responsible to the Chief of Medicine. Clinical oversight is provided by the collaborating physician, Section Chief, Endocrinology. The physician, as a member of the department, communicates with other healthcare providers to manage consults and additional services as required. Duties include, but are not limited to: Provides consultation on various forms of endocrine disease states, both for diagnosis and treatment in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic studies. Shares attending call responsibilities with other Endocrinologists in covering some nights, weekend and holiday calls as needed. Leads and manages the Endocrine team consisting of Endocrine fellows, residents, medical students, Pharmacists, Mid-Level Providers while on inpatient service or in clinical setting. Recognizes patients appropriate for referral or consultation with the collaborating physician. Exhibits leadership in initializing changes in patient care programs base on current concepts and findings from research and studies. Stays informed on developments in the management and treatment of diseases and illness through continuing medical education. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, shifts can be part-time or full-time Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
