Recruitment or Relocation Incentive may be authorized for highly qualified candidates Duties include but are not limited to: Provides direct patient care and physician coverage in all clinical programs within the GI Section of Memphis VAMC, to include GI clinics, inpatient and outpatient GI consults, and inpatient and outpatient GI endoscopies. Evening/night and week end calls to be shared with other members of the GI Section. Performs both emergent and elective, diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopies and upper GI endoscopies. Educate and train Medical Students, Residents, as well as Gastroenterology Fellows, in the specialties of Internal medicine and Gastroenterology Performs endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy in the Gastroenterology Lab Serves as the Attending Gastroenterologist for the in-patient Gastroenterology consultation service Provide scare of Gastroenterology outpatients and supervise GI Fellows in the Outpatient Clinics. Rotates with other Gastroenterologists, take night call and weekend call which includes rounding on the in-patient GI Consultation Service and performing emergency procedures on patients in the Intensive Care Unit or when required the Emergency Department or Operating Room.
