The Supervisor Revenue Cycle assists in overseeing Registration at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital. Provides daily guidance and support to ensure the team meets target objectives and ensures the department's workflow meets the Revenue Cycle's goals. The Supervisor Revenue Cycle works with the Revenue Cycle Manager/Director to develop strategic plans to ensure operational efficiency Works with cross-functional Revenue Cycle departments to maximize patient experience and revenue potential. The Supervisor Revenue Cycle may assist with other business functions as necessary.
Supervisory Competencies :
-Sets specific standards and objectives for intra-departmental processes collaboratively with Manager and other leadership staff. - Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.
-Ensures that the actions of the team meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. - The Supervisor has overall responsibility for overseeing the day to day operations of assigned team (including 24/7 staff) by monitoring productivity, workflows, quality and timeliness of work completion as well as necessary coverage and back up on a daily and weekly basis.
- Participates in an on-call rotation.
Leadership Competencies: - Establish and maintain strong, effective working relationships with peers and system leadership; effectively communicate with internal and external customers. - Oversee daily functions, acting as a front-line leader to answer team questions and address troubleshooting issues related to assigned functional area of the Revenue Cycle. - Lead and provide supervision, direction and technical expertise to team. - Monitor staff daily responsibilities which include oversight of activity and duties to ensure timely and accurate resolution of requests. - Approve and monitor attendance per department guidelines.
- Participate in meetings with internal department leadership and across Revenue Cycle as requested. - Regularly lead meetings to help identify training needs, facilitate cross-training, and establish continuous training and learning opportunities for team members. - Remain accountable to the Manager/Director for the detailed planning of steps and resources needed to meet project objectives.
2- or 4-year degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related area.
Three (3) years of experience within an applicable Revenue Cycle Department may substitute for associate degree.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Hospital/Clinic Revenue Cycle Department is required.
Excellent communication skills. Proficient in the English language. Proficient math skills. Proficiency with PC software and Electronic Health Record systems essential including basic typing skills. Ability to motivate in a team-based environment. Ability to foster an environment of honest and confidential communications. Ability to communicate, as needed, both written and verbal information in a clear, concise, accurate and considerate manner. Ability to deal professionally, courteously and efficiently and to remain calm under stress. Ability to assess and clarify changing priorities. Proven ability to problem solve effectively. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accomidate a 24/7 on site team.
