The Lead Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for serving as a person for patients, providers and staff, facilitating access to radiology services and arranging for services, tests, and procedures at the direction of the care provider. They coordinate the flow and exchange of information related to patient activity and perform registration and scheduling functions. This position requires computer skills and excellent customer service skills.
Coordinates the flow and exchange of information related to scheduling of any exams or tests done in Radiology.
Performs appropriate registration and scheduling functions including initial entry of demographic information, referring physician data and exam information.
Schedules exams, tests, procedures and follow-up and any services that the patient may require in the Radiology department, as taken from doctors orders.
Obtains consultation from or refers to technologist, nurse, physician or other provider (as appropriate) when questions of clinical nature are presented.
Is responsible for answering of multiple telephone lines and taking care of the callers needs quickly and correctly.
Administrative tasks: Ordering supplies, forms, printer/fax equipment maintenance; coordinates the MHealth Ancillary Imaging Staff work schedule for both East and West Bank reception desks and film file. Collects STO requests and organizes for manager approval and assigns casuals for coverage. Oversee the patient experience surveys on the truthpoint and oversees and encourages participation by patients and staff to initiate. Responsible for helping with primary level patient concerns for delays. Helps de-escalate by offering patient recovery means. Knows when it is critical to call the Manager to assist. Responsible for overseeing lunch breaks. Finds solutions to scheduling issues, concerns, and changes. Leader in EPIC information for updates and registration processes. Oversees any patient need: Waiting Room, Child Family Life, Nurse Call.
