As a member of the Strategic Planning Department, the Director of Strategic Planning – Population Health is responsible for identifying growth opportunities and driving business planning for AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division Population Health.
The Director of Strategic Planning provides expertise in strategy development and analytics to interpret complex market data and trends. The Director leverages market research and industry best practices to drive directional strategy and decision making. The Director provides thought leadership for Population Health and embodies a culture of innovation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a diverse and large group of senior level stakeholders through a repeatable annual process to develop and refine the multi-year service line business plan to ensure stakeholder buy-in and support of the strategies.
Develop multi-year business plans that drive volume and EBDIT growth for Population Health’s value-based contracts with employers and payers.
Develop multi-year business plans for business units and service lines within Population Health including Hospice, Palliative Care, Home Care, Home Infusion and Hospital at Home.
Provide thought leadership for the Executive Director of Network Development and leadership within Population Health in strategy development, business planning and industry benchmarking.
Collect, interpret and present market data (external, internal and forecasted outpatient and inpatient) from a variety of sources to identify opportunities and threats in the local market for inclusion in the service line business plans. Initiate market research and work with corporate market research team as needed for both qualitative and quantitative assessment.
Conduct community health needs assessments for strategic markets to identify gaps in care coverage and opportunities to enhance the consumer experience.
Work collaboratively across AdventHealth’s physician network, medical group and institutions to facilitate strategy development and promote engagement among all stakeholder groups.
Identify opportunities and build business cases for new revenue and business model opportunities.
Build a comprehensive set of assumptions to inform the financial proformas associated with the multi-year service line business plans or new programs or services.
Assess competitive landscapes for service lines across all markets; develop competitor profiles in conjunction with market leadership and the market business development director outlining competitors’ facility strategies, recruitment strategies and specific products and services initiatives.
Track and monitor the performance of strategies (and business plans) to inform status, the need for additional operational tactics and to drive continued strategic decision making.
Ensure all assigned service lines have aggressive growth strategies aimed to improve market share, profitability and/or long-term viability and that key stakeholders are engaged in the execution of those strategies.
Maintains industry relationships relevant to population health and designated service lines. Identify best practices for incorporation into service line development initiatives and collaborates with service line leadership for the continual development.
Ensures AdventHealth’s Population Health strategies are consumer-centric and are reflective of our brand of Whole Person Care while maintaining a strong emphasis on the viability of the business.
