Vanderbilt University Medical Center Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Senior Director, Operations Women's Health for the VUMC Adult Hospital. This is an executive level role and requires significant operations experience in women's health (highly desirable) or other personalized patient specialty area. The Senior Director will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital.

Perform essential administrative, professional and other duties of a planning and analytical nature in support of major department or division activities, responsibilities and goals.
Participate and advise in business development.
Ensure clinical service growth plans and strategies align with enterprise goals.
Develop goals and objectives for Women's Health based on interpretation of institutional policy and goals.
Establish and maintain professional liaison with clients, faculty and staff, students, and professional groups.
Review, establish, and revise policies, procedures, and standards related to all aspects of operations. Interpret policies and objectives to nursing staff, patient, and community groups.
Facilitate meetings to gather supportive data, concerns, and ideas to develop program in support of program/project objectives.
Ensure the most effective operations of the department through program development, process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments.
Develop budget, policies, and strategies that optimize the outcomes of clinical programs by improving efficiency and effectiveness in care delivery process.
Present financial data and recommendations relating to income and expenditures.
Provides data and support for accurate preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets.
Accountable to achieve financial targets in support of department and organizational goals. Develop, implement and report plan of action to address variances for administrative team.
Demonstrate a leadership style that is facilitative and collaborative.
Accountable for ensuring a multi-disciplinary framework that identifies and addresses issues, solves problems and evaluates outcomes. Participate on departmental and interdepartmental committees to address system problems/issues and facilitate information exchange.
Define space requirements and monitor the effective utilization of assigned space within Women's Health.
Maintain a safe, clean environment that meets regulatory requirements.
Demonstrate commitment to patient and family centered care through ongoing involvement of patients and family members as partners in key committees, including in planning, design and process involvement to create the ideal patient and family care experience.
Create and exceed service standards utilizing key service dimension and from knowledge of patient/customer expectations and best practice.
Collaborate within area and across organization to identify and develop innovative strategies that improve service, quality and productivity.
Assure successful implementation of clinical programs through systems and process design by integrating the design of the clinical programs with the needs of the community and other target populations.
Standardize services, processes, resources, and practices where appropriate to improve efficiency maximizing continuity of patient care while maintaining professional standards within disciplines and across Women's Health.
Identify, establish and evaluate quality assurance standards, programs, and procedures within department.

Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Nursing, MBA, or MHA and 10+ years relevant experience
