Develops, coordinates, implements, maintains and supervises an infection control program to prevent and/or control infection among patients and employees and to comply with requirements of regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital, Centers for Disease Control, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the Department of Public Health. Aligns department goals and tactics with hospital and strategic goals under the direction of the Quality and Patient Safety Director. Manages the day to day operations for the Infection Prevention and Infection control program. Provides education to medical staff, employees, and community members.
Bachelors degree in nursing or health care related field (ex. public health, respiratory therapy, or microbiology.
Minimum Work Experience
2 years experience in acute care setting and 2+ years of healthcare leadership experience (project management, oversight, or lead). 2 years of progressive infection experience and infection control certification preferred.A
