Job Summary

At NorthBay Healthcare The Manager, Volunteer Services works independently, as a member of the Foundation team, and provides direction and support to the President, Foundation.

The Manager, Volunteer Services will design, plan and direct the volunteer program to augment the services of the regular healthcare staff, within NorthBay Healthcare.

This manager will oversee the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and oversight of adult and teen volunteers, within the hospital and ambulatory practices. 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:  Certified Administration Volunteer Services (CAVS), required within 6 months of hire.

Experience: 

• Five years demonstrated progressive management/supervisory experience, preferably in a hospital/healthcare setting and volunteer setting. 
• Demonstrated knowledge on the building of a volunteer program in a healthcare setting, along with proven results in recruiting healthcare volunteers.

Skills: 

• Able to relate to individuals of all ages and diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities.
• Understanding of human behavior and ability to develop others’ capabilities.
• Skilled communicator, manager and planner.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, volunteers, physicians, or organizations. 
• Ability to coordinate, organize and manage multiple projects.
• Working knowledge of Logistics, Vocera, Sterling, and Oracle preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of MS word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
