In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.
Job Description
Are you highly motivated, willing to take action and passionate about Community Fundraising? As the world's oldest and largest private cancer center, absolutely everything that we do is passionate about changing the way that the world treats cancer! We are seeking a Development Officer (also referred to as a "Senior Community Lead") to join the Peer-to-Peer Fundraising and Development Marketing & Communications Team. The Development Officer will play a key role in helping the team reach critical metrics through maintaining a large portfolio of the program's high-value third-party peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraisers and donors.
You will:
Manage Fundraiser Prospect Portfolio
- Be responsible for the recruitment, retention, and cultivation of program's highly engaged P2P fundraisers by email, phone and in-person communication
- Provide a highly personalized level of customer service to your portfolio
- Demonstrate an excellent understanding of online resources offered to P2P fundraisers, and skill in coaching fundraisers through their use
- Display knowledge of MSK, and program specific, priorities and various avenues through which a donor can become involved or support MSK
P2P Growth and Collaboration
- Partner with your colleagues in the development and strategic growth of your respective program and collaborate effectively across the team, department, and institution.
- Display excellent knowledge of the OneDevelopment and larger MSK network, how to marshal these resources, and make strong recommendations to leadership and/or fundraisers based on this knowledge.
- Handle ambiguity with a high level of organizational and emotional intelligence
- Help lead or manage a project or program within the team
You Are:
- Successful in building strong interpersonal relationships
- Able to nurture, steward, solicit and retain a vast pipeline of individual and corporate donors
- An effective communicator, written and verbal.
You Have:
- A bachelor's degree with experience in fundraising, development, recruitment, communications, sales, or account management or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Shown success in meeting goals and driving results
