ChristianaCare is searching for a Medical Librarian to join the Medical Library team. This is an excellent opportunity for a master's level librarian with 1-2 years of professional experience who is looking to join a company based around excellence and love. This position is designed to assist library customers by providing excellent reference services in support of patient care, hospital services, research and education. Although this position primarily works out of the Junior Board Cancer Resource Library location, there may be travel needs between the other hospital library facilities in the Newark and Wilmington locations.
Some responsibilities in this position include:
Provides knowledge-based information retrieval and reference services to all internal and external customers of the medical libraries.
Serves as a resource for assisting clients in completing their own information retrieval.
Provides customized informatics instruction for evidence-based information retrieval as requested.
Provides support and literature search services for service line modifications as requested.
Provides orientations to library resources, equipment and services as needed.
Provides introductory instruction through workshops, course sessions, and online modules on topics such as database searching and citation management.
Develops and teaches educational sessions to any staff member needing to learn research skills.
Desired candidates must possess an ALA-accreditedMaster'sdegreeinlibraryorinformationscience and have a minimum of oneyearofrelevantpost-degreeworkexperience. Experience conducting literaturesearchinginhealthsubjectareas and demonstrated knowledgeof healthsciencesliterature is also required along with evidence of project priority, time management skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
