Position Summary & MissionSupervises assigned Business Service teams, provides support to the Business Services department, ensures effective training and orientation of new team members, communicates job expectations to staff, evaluates and assesses each team member's performance and coaches all assigned team members. Effectively collaborates and communicates with the Manager of Patient Access for the BHN regarding team performance, change implementation, and department problem solving. The Supervisor will assist the Manager of Patient Access for the BHN when directed to serve as a liaison between other departments (i.e. clinical, medical, administrative staff) to help coordinate Business Service process changes. The Supervisor models high customer service standards, promotes and ensures customer service excellence among their team members. The Supervisor may also be assigned additional responsibilities, special projects, or other administrative assignments as needed and as appropriate by the Manager of Patient Access for the BHN.Responsibilities 1. Supervises an assigned team of staff within Business Services.2. Supports Business Services operations & processes.3. Supports the administration of the Purchasing System4. Supports the management of service contracts and maintenance of communication equipment agency-wide (copiers, fax machines and postage meter located at the main facility and off-site locations).5. Completes additional responsibilities or special projects as needed.6. Completes administrative paperwork and required trainings effectively and on time.Secondary FunctionsProvide administrative support and assistance to Manager of Patient Access as needed, and as requested. Job ScopeTasks include routine and non-routine issues of intermediate and advanced levels of complexity. The Supervisor position functions relatively independently, however requires consistent collaboration and communication with the Manager of Patient Access to assure team initiatives and resources align with agency goals and expectations. Impact of errors has limited budgetary implications, but can definitely impact customer and staff satisfaction.Supervisory ResponsibilityProvides direct supervision to designated teams of Business Service staff. Conducts measurement and assessment of staff performance. Provides support to the Manager of Patient Access as needed.Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of medical office administrative operations, including reception, switchboard, fax, copier, and mail systems.
Ability to organize people and processes collaboratively with user departments for effective program coordination, decision making and problem solving.

Ability to recruit, train and supervise a staff of 15 - 20 people.
Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, orally and in writing.
Ability to resolve conflicts and promote positive outcomes.QualificationsA.A. degree plus two years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the above requirements. Prefer experience in healthcare industry.Job ConditionsMost of the work of this position is performed in an office environment during normal business hours. However, there may be occasional meetings before and after regular office hours and in locations beyond Lakewood. Overtime may occur. The incumbent must be able to speak and hear at normal conversational levels.
