Position description
The Department of Family Medicine (http://familymedicine.ucsd.edu) at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body.
We invite applications for one or more faculty positions from those interested in an academic career involving the practice and teaching of full spectrum family medicine to medical students and residents. Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient care, obstetrics, and outpatient procedures depending on department needs.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Position may be full-time or part-time, subject to funding.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Basic qualifications (Required at Time of Application) Candidates must have an MD or DO, and must have or be eligible for a California medical license as determined by the Medical Board of California. Additional qualifications (Required at Time of Start) Candidates must have completed an ACGME-certified Family Medicine residency training program and be Board certified or Board eligible in Family Medicine.
At the time of the new appointment, proposed candidates must show evidence of outstanding qualifications through letters of recommendation, teaching evaluations, and patient satisfaction assessments.
Preferred qualifications Scholarly interests and progressive accomplishment in scholarly activity or practice-based research are preferred. Application Requirements
