Bon Secours Mercy Health is looking for a strategically-minded and proven leader to grow the Heart and Vascular program across 4 of the 7 hospitals in the Richmond, VA market.

The incoming Director will lead the market to long-term growth in cardiovascular services by:

-Setting strategy and direction for the service line with the ultimate goal of meeting overall Market and Ministry goals and service goals
-Partnering with a Dyad to develop new systems of care for a value-based care delivery in a fee for service environment, integrating clinical and non-clinical aspects of operations and services.
-Directing the development of programs and practices which serve to facilitate the cost-effective delivery of quality patient care services.
-Maintaining a part-time clinical presence (100-150 cases per year), taking 1:4 call with a team of established surgeons performing 700-800 cases per year.

The ideal candidate is board-certified cardiac surgeon who can successfully navigate the complex dynamics of an independent/employed mixed model across a network of unique facilities. The incoming leader demonstrates an executive presence and can communicate effectively at all organizational levels, gaining buy-in of both employed and non-employed stakeholders. S/he will work cross-functionally with Chiefs of Strategy and Operations for the Richmond market to align the efforts of over 100+ providers, standardizing processes and protocols in an effort to improve the quality and efficiency of patient care, and ultimately growing the Heart & Vascular service in the market.

Compensation to be determined by the agreed upon split of administrative and clinical FTE allocation for the right candidate.
