JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an Administrative Director who will report directly to the DHIP Vice President for Growth and Network Development and working in partnership with the DHIP Chief Financial Officer, DHIP Community Chief Medical Officer, and DHIP VP of Operations, this position works directly with the Community DHIP network, practices, physicians and HCAs. This position focuses on CDHIP practice management, including financial analysis, clinic/provider budgeting and performance, provider DHIP Employment Agreements and compensation management, and demonstrates a solid understanding of revenue cycle, practice and provider expense management, and clinic operations. The ability to manage complex business and human capital issues and communicate about those issues with DHIP Senior Leadership, physicians, staff and managers is necessary. This position also demonstrates cross functional management with all the practice support operations of within DukeHealth.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide directorial management of community based DHIP practices working closely with senior physician leadership and Health Center Administrators in areas such as financial performance, customer service, human capital management, culture and engagement, information systems, process management and lean management principles, finances and general clinic operations.
Exercise leadership and management responsibility over all functions within the CDHIP practice portfolio ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of physicians and staff.
Participate, with other senior ambulatory personnel, in the analysis, planning and strategy formulation of ambulatory entity goals and the implementation of plans and programs; analyze practice operations and needs to determine potential enhancements or improvements to procedures and activities.
Manage DHIP Physician Employment Agreements as they pertain to compensation, benefits, termination, schedules and liability/malpractice coverage (for outside activities), as well as oversight of clinic MOUs with financial clinic transfers.
Manage compensation plans for practices and providers and calculating quarterly incentive bonus payments for providers.
Maintain liaison with all levels of Duke administration, physicians, PRMO, DHTS, Recruitment, Marketing, outside organizations, etc. to coordinate the business of assigned CDHIP practice portfolio, and accomplish directives and facilitate the resolution of issues.
Work with these leadership teams throughout the Health System, serving as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization and quality goals and objectives, analyze and utilize information to develop and support management decisions.
Direct the compilation of and/or prepare operational or financial reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Assure achievement of balanced scorecard targets.
Determine CDHIP fiscal requirements and approve budgetary recommendations for assigned practices; monitor and verify reconciliation of expenditure of budgeted funds. Direct completion of annual budget including provider level wRVUs, Arrived Visits, and cFTEs, as well as HR, expense, capital and practice level including quarterly updates as needed.
Establish major schedules, task assignments and allocation of manpower, space and equipment to ensure conformance with commitments for assigned CDHIP clinics/practices.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree; A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field is preferred.
Seven years of clinic/practice management or other related healthcare administration experience including practice operations and financial analyses.
Experience in business planning, budget projections, revenue/expense management.
Well-developed financial analysis skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work with physicians.
Political savvy, ability to work in ambiguous situations and in a highly matrixed organization.
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
JOB HOURS
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
